Mom’s Book Nook – Online Book Club

Laura from Sunny Day Family, Erika from Pray Species and I are just like you… busy moms who love to read, and desperately missed our monthly book clubs.  But a lazy Sunday afternoon to chat about books was just no longer in the cards as our families grew.  So we started Mom’s Book Nook to find a way to still bring our fellow book lovers together at a time and platform that worked: online from the comfort of our home after the kids went to bed.

Joining is simple – pick up a copy of this month’s book, read along with us and join our Facebook group to be part of the friendly book banter all month long and the official discussion of this month’s pick on the last Monday of the month (6/27) at 9PM ET.

June 2016 Selection

Confession.  This one has been recommended to me more times than any other book I’ve read this year.  My mother-in-law recommended it last fall, book club members have thrown it out monthly for the last year.  But I was afraid to read a book about assisted suicide (not a spoiler since now that it’s coming out as a movie, the plot basics are generally well known).  I am so glad I finally did (yes, I’ve already read it!).  This month’s selection for book club: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

About the Book

Yes, it touches on the political, moral and ethical dilemma of assisted suicide.  But there is so much more.  It is a beautiful love story, a story of family, an epic depiction of life among families from opposite sides of town, and choosing a life worth living. I loved it so much, I had to read After You, Jojo Moyes sequel to the story.

About the Author

Jojo Moyes was born in 1969 and grew up in London.
