Who is excited for a fresh set of book club selections for the New Year??? This year, to allow as many of our readers as possible to participate in Mom’s Book Nook, my fellow book lover and co-host Laura and I are doing things a little bit differently. Mom’s Book Nook will continue to be a virtual book club for busy moms who love to read and talk about books… but we are announcing all our picks for the year now. Read on for our 2018 book club selections, as well as our new format for discussion – to allow our readers all over the world in all different time zones to join in on the fun!

2018 Monthly Book Club Selections for Mom’s Book Nook

I can hardly believe that Mom’s Book Nook is now entering its fourth year! What started as an outlet for busy moms to share their love for books, has grown into a tremendous community of readers. So this year, we have decided to change things up a bit to allow for as many of our readers as possible to join in the fun.

First, Laura and I are announcing all of our monthly book club selections now. That way, everyone has time to get them – even if you have to get on your library’s waiting list to do it. And second, we are opening up the discussion to allow EVERYONE to join in.

Instead of a set hour to chat every month, we will open up a discussion thread in the Mom’s Book Nook group on Facebook on the last Monday of the month for the book of the month. Anyone can pose questions for discussion, and reply to questions or comments in the thread. And because the best part of every month is always the book recommendations, we will also have a permanent discussion thread for book recommendations!

Mom’s Book Nook Book Club Selections for 2018

On to the best part – the book club picks for the year! While Laura and I have made the list for this year, many (if not all) come from the recommendations of our members during past book club discussions. We have also followed many of the tricks I shared last year for picking book club books, including selections from some of our favorite past authors (Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, Bear Town by Fredrik Bachman and Today Will Be Different by Maria Semple), as well as some books coming to the big screen this year (Ready Player One by Ernest Kline).

How Mom’s Book Nook Works
