I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Influence Central for WaterWipes. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #WaterWipes #IC #ad |
With your first baby, all the grandmas, aunts and girlfriends can’t wait to throw a shower and buy you precious baby onesies. With your second baby, you might have a sprinkle, just for the opportunity to get out one last time while you still can! With our third baby, we moved just a month before he was due and needed every last moment before he arrived to unpack and get settled. I kept promising to have all my friends over to see him (and the new house) as soon as he arrived… and so, while my Mom was still in town to help, we had a little Sip and See for our sweet little Baby M!
How to Host a Simple Sip and See
With three kids 4 and under, including a 10 day old newborn, hosting a party might seem a bit daunting. Fortunately, my Mom was in town helping with the new baby and more than happy to pitch in and help. We also kept things simple – because all anyone really wants to do is see the baby!
Setting the Spread
No party is complete without some tasty food and beverages. I love the flavors of Fall so we stuck to those for our menu. Our party was planned for brunch time, and my favorite brunch dish is Egg Strata. Egg Strata is a layered breakfast casserole consisting primarily of bread, eggs and cheese. After that, you can add almost anything else you want to the mix, just as you would a quiche or an omelet. To incorporate the flavors of Fall, we used a loaf of cranberry French bread, and added some rosemary and bacon (recipe to come!). You also make it the night before, and then just pop it in the oven the morning of your event.
No Sip and See is complete without a signature cocktail – Apple Cider Sangria! I loved this video recipe we found from Tasty. It was awesome served both cold, and later, we heated up the leftovers and drank them hot as well. The kids also enjoyed plain apple cider for a taste of the season.
To make for easy clean-up, we used a great assortment of blue paper products, cutlery and festive polka dot straws! They were perfectly accented by our WaterWipes sample pack bundle party favors.
The Festivities
With all the craziness of the last few months, it was great to visit and catch up with my girlfriends. We reminisced about our past newborn phases, and as moms are apt to do, we talked about how often Baby M is eating, how much he sleeps, and how many diapers he’s blown out.
I told them how great it was to remember to bring my own WaterWipes to the hospital this time. I had no qualms about using the chemical free wipes on my hours old baby. The hospital only provides dry cloths you are supposed to wet for diaper changes… though for the first 12-24 hours, they want you to also call them every time you get out of bed?!? All of my friends were eager to take their samples home and try them on their kiddos!
The Guest of Honor
True to his mellow personality to date, Baby M slept through his own party, all our girl talk and gossip. My husband is apt to point out he takes after him, a boy of few words!
