All you need to make it happen is this introductory flyer, the fun half-page coin flashcards that come with it, and a large, clear plastic collection jar for each classroom. Flashcards feature a penny, nickel, dime and quarter, along with fun facts about each coin.

How it Works

Each week over the course of a month, your students will bring in that week’s designated coin: first pennies, then nickels, dimes and finally quarters. Kids will get hands-on learning sorting spare change at home with their parents, and feel the reward of giving as they dump their collection into the school fundraising jar!

You can raise hundreds of dollars for your school, at no cost, just from collecting spare change.

How to Teach Your Kids About Money

As you sort your spare change for the school fundraiser, discuss the coins with your preschooler. Talk about the value of the coins. How many of each coin does it take to make a dollar? How much money are you giving to the school collection each week? Use the coin flashcards to talk about the features of the coins.
