Did you miss us last month?  I know I sure missed having a great book to read and a fun night discussing it with all of you!  But don’t worry – it’s the first Monday of 2016, and Laura of Sunny Day Family and I are back with our first book selection for our online book club of 2016!

A Virtual Book Club for Moms

For all our former participants – welcome back! And if this is your first time joining us, it’s super easy.  To participate, all you have to do is read this month’s book selection, always announced on the first Monday of the month.  Then, join us on Facebook to discuss the book (and your chance to give input and WIN next month’s book FREE!) on the last Monday of the month at 9PM ET.

Our last book in November was Go Set a Watchman, the discovered prequel to Harper Lee’s award winning To Kill a Mockingbird. I had been looking forward to reading it ever since its discovery was announced, and I think we all agreed we were more than a little disappointed.  But admittedly, Mockingbird is a very hard act to follow!

January 2016 Book Selection

I am super excited to announce our first book for 2016.  I love and have read all of Liane Moriarty’s books – but this one is definitely my favorite.

About the Book

What Alice Forgot is the story of Alice, on the cusp of her 40th birthday and divorce.  She suffers a head injury at the gym, and comes to believing she is 10 years younger.  The book tells the story of how she must piece together how the life she knew at 29 has fallen apart by 39, and whether relationships – with her sister, estranged husband and children – are worth mending. It is currently in development as a movie, with Jennifer Aniston in talks to play the title role.

About the Author

Liane Moriarty is the Australian author of six internationally best-selling novels, including Three Wishes, The Last Anniversary, What Alice Forgot, The Hypnotist’s Love Story and the number 1 New York Times bestsellers, The Husband’s Secret and Big Little Lies. Writing as L.M.Moriarty,Liane has also written a series of books for children.

Monthly Discussion and Giveaway

Mom’s Book Nook is a virtual, completely online book club.  To participate, simply read this month’s book selection, then join us to discuss via our Facebook event on January 25th at 9PM ET.  We will talk about the book, and at the end, solicit recommendations for next month’s book selection.
