I received complimentary product and compensation from rockAbye to facilitate this post. As always, opinions remain 100% my own.

With all three of my pregnancies, I know the first thoughts at the top of my list were baby names, followed immediately by beginning my search for baby nursery ideas. Some find it in a color scheme or walking through the bedding department at the baby super store while building their baby registry. I found mine with rockAbye rockers. Catch a peek of just a few of the heirloom quality rockers they make, and enter to win one of your very own ($149 retail value).

One of my favorite parts of nesting? Planning the baby's nursery! My favorite place to find baby nursery inspiration is with RockAbye rockers - see how their rockers inspired my baby boy's baseball theme nursery, with subtle baseball accents paired with navy and white to create a baby nursery he can grow with for years. My rockAbye Addiction

One of the first gifts I bought for my nephew, the oldest grandchild in our family, was a rockAbye rocker. I grew up in Texas, and my sister and her family still live there – I sent him a cow rocker (a style that has since been discontinued), and I was totally wowed by the quality and durability. Even now, after two boys now ages 6 and 7, it still looks brand new.  When they say heirloom quality, they aren’t lying. The rockAbye rockers became my go-to baby gift.

Over the last 7 years, I have probably purchased 5 or more to give as baby gifts to close family and friends. I scope out the baby registry, see their choice of colors and bedding, and then find a rockAbye rocker to match. They are such an adorable addition in any nursery or playroom.

rockAbye – Where My Nurseries Begin

My very first purchase the day we found out our last baby was a boy was a rockAbye rocker. With my rockAbye addiction already well underway, I had been eyeing the Homer Baseball Chair rocker for years. Our son is named after his grandfather and my grandfather, the biggest baseball fan I ever knew… until I met my husband. I knew it was the perfect start to our baby boy’s nursery… it even plays ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’!

His nursery carries baseball themed accents paired with navy and white bedding and furniture. All his bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids, the Harper Nursery collection in Navy, as well as the oversized Anywhere chair. The baseball switch plates and night light I found for a steal on Amazon. I loved that these switch plates were metal, with a durable finish.  They don’t scratch at all.

The baseball peg rack was actually in my husband’s room as a child (thank you Grandma for saving everything!), but you can find a similar one here. And his old little league jerseys make for festive decor on the pegs too! My absolute favorite touch? The baseball seams on the wall behind his crib. Would you believe those are actually wall decals? You can find them on Etsy here.

Picking baby nursery inspiration early allows you to find and accumulate the perfect accents over time. The two last finishing touches in his nursery I found at Hobby Lobby just a few weeks before he was born. They frequently have 40-50% off sales on entire categories – that week it was on these giant, rustic metal wall letters. They hang in monogram formation over his changing table. Normally $30 each (which I would never have paid), I got them for $15 each. So truth revealed – Baby M is actually Baby J! I also got the baseball frame there on the same trip. It holds a picture of my two favorite baseball fans – my grandfather and my husband – taken at a Yankee game during the Yankee’s last season at the old Yankee stadium.

I love that his nursery is mature enough to grow with him – and more than anything, I love that it has personal touches that carry great family meaning. The high quality, made in America Homer  rockAbye rocker was the starting point of it all, and a perfect fit!

Rockers for Girls too!

Don’t worry – rockAbye has adorable rockers for girls too! With over 40 rockers to choose from, there is truly one for every child and room theme. My oldest daughter’s green and pink paisley nursery was originally inspired by the Bonita Butterfly rocker, which they still carry. And my soon to be born niece is now the proud owner of the Gracie the Hippo rocker.

Some lovely nursery ideas here, we went for a neutral nursery with our first as we didn’t know what we were having. Even though it was neutral in colour scheme I wanted the furniture to be quite traditional, we also finished off the nursery with a rocker, we found a great range…two years on our son still loves his rocker!! goo.gl/2EWWKV

Thanks so much Jodie! And yes – the rockers are so beautiful, and love how well they stand up to the kids’ beatings too. They also play an ABC, numbers and rocking song.

What a great room for a little boy. Nice thing, too, is that some of those decorations can grow right up into a “big boy” room as well!

Yes! Love that I’ll just upgrade the bed, and he can live in the room until college!
