Happy Friday, y’all!  If you’ve never stopped by my Playground Parkbench before, welcome – I’m Meghan, also known as the PGPB Guru.  I write about all the things my fellow parents and I kick around on the sidelines at the playground: at-home activities for kids, parenting tips, financial savvy and best buys for the household CEO, as well as local content for my hometown.  Each Friday, I team up with 4 of my fellow kids’ activity bloggers to bring you We Love Weekends, where our friends from around the web share their best family-friendly content with you and your family so you can love the weekend too.  Each week I also feature a few of my favorites from the week before – this week, I’m featuring fun, summer STEM activities for preschoolers, to keep their minds sharp while they just think they are playing!

Featured Summer STEM Activities for Preschoolers

This week’s featured post are all easy play ideas featuring great learning activities for kids aged 3-5 in the areas of science and math.  Some even my toddler will enjoy as well!

Summer STEM for Preschoolers WLW 2015-07-10

First up, in a fun activity that combines science and art, we loved Rainbow Ice Paint Art from Mini Monets and Mommies.  The girls have been loving our own colored ice sensory play activities, so we can’t wait to try this one next!

Next, from Peakle Pie, we liked this fun activity to teach fractions to the youngest of mathematicians.  The Ms are just beginning to enjoy Origami, and will love that they get to unfold all my creations in Fractions Fun with Origami Frogs!  For more great math ideas, Peakle Pie is hosting a Cool Math for Cool Kids activity every day for the month of July – don’t miss it!

Last, from Planet Smarty Pants, continue the patriotic celebrations by making your own fireworks in a jar – all while introducing your preschooler to the magic of Molecular Movement and Temperature!
